Governor’s Corner

Due to 7 inches of snow and 40 mile per hour winds with lots of drifting and icy roads, as your Governor I had to weigh what is more important, a cabinet meeting or my Lion friends’ safety; so, I had to cancel the cabinet meeting that was to be held at the Urbana Clubhouse. I have spoken to Urbana’s President and we have decided to rest the cabinet meeting for March 23rd at 9:00 am which will follow our District Convention on March 9th in Argos. Our special guest for the District Convention will be International Director Don Noland and his wife. Please mark your calendar for March 9th and for March 23rd.

Just a quick reminder that our 2019 Indiana Lions State Convention will be held April 26, 27, & 28 at the Hilton Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our International President, Gudren & PID Jon Yngvadottir will be there. Please look for more convention news in this newsletter.

Lion Sheri and I visited the Mid-Winter Conference in Indianapolis and had a great time with a lot of wonderful Lion friends. We heard many reports at the Council meeting which makes me believe that we Lions are moving straight ahead and are growing.

Speaking of growth, if you have not invited someone you know to visit your club so that they can experience all the good we do as Lions and it also gives you an opportunity to invite your guest to also be a Lion.

Please remember that Lions are currently raising funds for their Campaign 100 cause. If you have any questions or would like to have a speaker concerning this topic, please contact PDG Marty Juel at [Omitted for Digital Publication] or you can email Marty at [Omitted for Digital Publication], he would be more than happy to come speak to your club about Campaign 100.

PDG Jeri Seely would like to receive any articles and pictures concerning all the great things your clubs are doing so she can publish them in the Hoosier Lion. You can send them to PDG Jeri at [Omitted for Digital Publication].

Please keep in mind that this year my slogan is simply “GET ON BOARD” which means I am asking your club to help me fight and conquer pediatric cancer. All donations should be sent to Cabinet Treasurer PDG Robert Myers and he will forward your donations to LCIF in your club’s name.

In closing, I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day and remember those that love you.

DG Jim Reeve
