The first District-wide Health Fair was held on Saturday February 1 at the Battell Community Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. And the BIGGEST of thank you’s to the Battell Community Center for partnering with us to make this event happen! We had a great vendor turnout with 26 scheduled participants, including a very popular blood drive…THANKS to the South Bend Medical Foundation. Twelve donors have now provided life-saving components to save 36 people! There is NO way to give enough thanks to Danielle LaFleur with Saint Joseph Health System and all of her participating groups! From REAL Services and several Senior Living centers to Boling Vision and the Lakeville Lions (both of the latter providing vision screening!)

Mother Nature was not very cooperative with our recent attempt at a District Meeting. Did you forget that we’re LIONS and we WILL serve! Our rescheduled meeting is on Saturday, February 15. If you had already paid for the January meeting, you’re all set. If you did pay, and are not able to attend this rescheduled meeting, let CT Ron Guth know. It can be used for May 2nd meeting!

WE are so lucky to have an incredible Past International Director coming for the District Convention on March 14. Plan to hear Jennifer Ware share her incredible story and bring new inspirations to us all! And be sure to come for the surprise fun event in the morning! With Spring just around the corner, it’s time to plant all kinds of seeds…out in the garden, and plant seeds of membership growth!

And then…look out! April will be here before you know it and then…LIONS from across the state will be celebrating their service at the State Convention being held in Bloomington, IN. It’s incredible how fast the year flies by…make sure to attend these great networking events to meet other Lions and share your successes and challenges.

Speaking of challenges…we’re looking for that Lion who is interested in stepping into the leadership role with the District. Training and support are provided and SO much support from our PDGs and Lions! Do it and make a difference!
