Governor’s Corner
I hope that you and your family had a joyous and wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As you celebrated around your Christmas tree with family and friends keep in mind that many people in our world were not able to be home for the holidays.
We are about to start our new year and I am in hopes that all our clubs will adopt a new resolution to invite one person to become a member of your club. By doing this, our district can grow this year in the plus column, but it will not grow if your club does not take this challenge on.
We have an important Mid-Winter Conference coming up January 11th & 12th in Indianapolis. Please attend so this can continue every year. Without a good turnout, this could be the last Mid-Winter Conference. For more information, you can go to the Indiana Lions Mid-Winter Conference Facebook page or at https://bit.ly/2F8VaOZ. This speaker for this conference will be Jessica Michna who portrays Helen Keller.
The 2019 Indiana Lions State Convention will be hosted by District 25B April 26th-28th. It is not too early so please mark your calendars with these dates. Our guest will be our International President Gudrun Yngvadottir and her husband Jon. Please do not miss this opportunity to meet them. On Friday night, we will be having dinner at the Parkview Field where the Fort Wayne Tin Caps play.
Just a reminder, our next district meeting will be hosted by the Urbana Lions Club on January 19th at 9:00 a.m. Hope to see everyone there. Please come for the fellowship and good food.
Please remember the Lions are currently raising funds for their Campaign 100 cause. If you have any questions or would like to have a speaker concerning this topic, please contact PDG Marty Juel at [redacted for digital publication] or [redacted for digital publication] or you can email PDG Marty at marty@martyjuel.com and he would be more than glad to come and speak to your club about Campaign 100.
Currently my calendar has a lot of space on it for club visits so please contact me at home at [redacted for digital publication], daytime number [redacted for digital publication], or my cell number [redacted for digital publication]. When I come to your club, it gives me an opportunity to meet all the wonderful Lions that do so much for your community. Don’t forget to get your visit with the Governor scheduled or he will be contacting you.
Please keep in mind that this year my slogan is simply “GET ON BOARD” which means that I am asking your club to help be fight and conquer pediatric cancer. All donations should be sent to District Cabinet Treasurer PDG Rober Myers at 2507 E225 S, Warsaw, IN 46580 and he will forward your donation to LCIF in your club’s name. If you have any questions, please contact PDG Bob Myers at [redacted for digital publication].
