November 2017 Newsletter

From the Desk of DG Tom Polk

As I am visiting clubs, I am finding that many members are wanting to find more and better service ideas for their communities. As an organization, LCI has established diabetes and part of the new service framework. Here are some basic facts about diabetes:

November is national diabetes awareness month. If you have not considered some activity for this – it is not too late. The district meeting on November 11, 2017 at Atwood Indiana will feature a program on diabetes. Consider attend-ing this meeting. District meetings are held to help clubs and the Lions of the district to find and have access to re-sources. As I have sated in my club visits, the district is here to help your local club.

The LCI Website has excellent resources available to help clubs plan an event for diabetes awareness.

If your club has participated in promoting the Peace Poster Contest, please contact. The District’s posters will need to be judged soon, so the District’s winner may be selected by December 1. The District winner will then be judged at the upcoming Council Christmas Party on December 2nd.

Although being District Governor is a lot of work I am enjoying meeting the Lions of district 25G. I look forward to visiting with all of you in the coming months and I hope that you also mark your calendars for our district convention in March 2018.
